Business Sponsorship Applications for companies

The Business Sponsorship scheme has been set up to allow Australian businesses to employ overseas workers to assist with skills shortages.

The requirements that the business must satisfy to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) when applying to become a business sponsor are:

  • that it employs Australians
  • can evidence expenditure on training Australian employees
  • is financially able to meet the obligations of the sponsorship
  • complies with all relevant Australian employment regulations, awards and migration legislation

Once a company is approved by DIBP, the business sponsorship is valid for 3 years. The company will be monitored on a regular basis by the DIBP compliance section to ensure they are abiding by all sponsor obligations.

Geoffrey Nathan Consulting Inc can assist companies to apply to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to become a Business Sponsor.
